Our Adopted Schools

In keeping with our Foundation's mission to support education, our  efforts are focused on improving students' experience at schools in need. Our first two adopted schools are the Enid Capron Primary School in Five Cays, Turks and Caicos and Vivien Vanterpool Primary School in Anguilla.

Nestled on a gentle slope overlooking the luxuriant Five Cays beach The Enid Capron Primary School is as vibrant as the turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean.  The school has existed since the 1930’s, first being housed in a one room building situated at the southern end of Five Cays, with the existing buildings being completed in 1976.

The school is blessed with an energetic Principal, Mrs. Garland, whose perennial motto is to achieve, achieve, achieve. Currently, the school has a total of 503 students and 30 teachers, including many from under privileged immigrant families with members who work in hotels featured by ID Travel Group. There are big needs not funded by traditional sources.

In recent years, the Foundation has been pleased to contribute:

  • 50 Laptops
  • Several HP Officejet Printers
  • School supplies (books, pencils, rulers, school bags)
  • Meals for students
  • Hawking Technology Outdoor Multi-function Wi-Fi System to provide campus wide Wi-Fi
  • Instruments for the music program (drum set, keyboard, electric guitar, flute and more)

We were also delighted that the ID Travel Group was able to welcome a number of students from the Enid Capron Primary School to New York to visit and to perform at Island Destination's annual brochure launch gala event.  The children were able to enjoy the sites of New York City and their performance was a wonderful way to bring attention to the work of the Foundation.

ON GOING SUPPORT FOR ENID CAPRON SCHOOL

For the last two years, right before school started, ID Travel Group Foundation, along with Grace Bay Resorts and The Shore Club, sponsored a program of Professional development sessions with the Enid Capron staff.  The training was led by Maria Mangiardi, a special education specialist from New York, who focused on Literacy and Differentiated Instruction for an Inclusive Classroom.  The training was well-received by the teachers and has resulted in a positive experience for the students.

In September 2025, Maria brought her son to the Enid Capron school while Maria conducted her staff training. Not only was it valuable instruction for the Enid Capron teachers, Maria's son got to see how students his age attend school in a different country!

The principals of ID Travel Holdings try to visit the school when and bring supplies whenever business takes them to Providenciales. Pictured here are ID partners Paul Cleary, Laurie Palumbo and Padu Padmanaban with an excited group of fifth graders who were fascinated by Paul's white hair! Through the Foundation, ID Travel has been a long-time supporter of the elementary school, providing special instruction for the teachers on differentiated learning, along with musical instruments, laptops, printers, school supplies and meals.

As a result of our visit, ID agreed to support a trip for the Enid Capron teachers to Washington, DC in August by paying for hotel accommodations for some of the teachers.
